SeaCap Ventures is a venture capital investment firm
that focuses on equity investments in early-stage business enterprises. SeaCap has offices in New York City and Philadelphia, and targets companies located in the Mid-Atlantic region. SeaCap invests in industries including, but not limited to, Internet technologies and services, information technology and telecommunications, and in other businesses leveraging their enterprise functions through the Internet. SeaCap will also consider investments in non-technology businesses that are well positioned for growth with a significant market opportunity. SeaCap does not consider investments in the life sciences sector.
SeaCap’s preferred investment opportunities
are deals in which we may act as a lead investor with an investment amount of $250,000 to $1,000,000. Our preferred initial investment amount is $500,000. SeaCap has the ability to leverage its network of venture funding sources to syndicate complete rounds of financings. As such, we generally participate in co-investment opportunities with other venture capital firms and also consider investments being lead by other venture capital firms. We prefer to invest in rounds sized under $5,000,000 where we can play a meaningful role as value added investors.
A typical SeaCap portfolio company candidate
is a post-initial start-up or expansion stage company that is well positioned for rapid revenue growth and profitability in the near term. The candidate company must be led by a superior, though not necessarily complete, management team that has a unique vision and proven execution capabilities.
SeaCap is managed by three partners
with extensive backgrounds in private equity investing, and broad experience in strategic and operational management of small and large business enterprises. The partners look for opportunities where we can work closely with management teams in designing and building a portfolio company’s business. We strive to invest in companies of high integrity and caliber that view management as a team and collaborative effort.
